Press-Release:
Leading the way for the eleventh digital release, high time to salute the newest addition to the Sub Audio Records family: SBK. Heading overseas, we turn the radar towards Montreal, Québec. The multi-faceted Canadian artist has already gratuitously proven himself, again and again, emerging through illustrious appearances on imprints such as Dank 'n' Dirty Dubz and Version Collective. Besides receiving support from essential Dubstep tastemakers, the talented DJ wrecks havoc on dance floors in and around the country. For this release, he's encompassed a broad palette of his sonic signature within a varied three-track EP, resulting in a most welcome addition to the discography of Vienna's subculture bass music hub.
Treading on treacherous ground, the criminal investigations of 'Catch A Thief' unfold within a sphere of vinyl noise and faulty electronics. Surging into the inscrutable low-end foundation, intent listeners find themselves captivated by its intricate, percussive details and haunting harmonies. 'Meaningless' transports us into an alternative realm of existence, contemplating existence and its meaning or lack thereof. Meticulously arranged foley samples merge with subtle chord chimes, only to emerge amidst renewed vigor apace with beautiful low-frequency movements. In a most fruitful, collaborative effort with fellow countryman Shigero - 'Problem City' concludes the massive release in blazing glory. No-holds-barred shutdown - yet always staying true to its uplifting groove and the occasional melodic flute incursion.
